Velez on TV tenterhooks

AXARQUIA: The Andalucian TV channel Canal Sur could celebrate New Year’s Eve in Velez-Malaga.

Members of the local Dance School Candilejas of Torre del Mar have participated in the channel’s contest called ‘I sang the Canal Sur Christmas carol too’.

Around 80 people collaborated in the initiative which is already a hit on social media platforms.

Of  the 275 videos that are participating in the contest, Velez-Malaga’s is first on the list.

The video features popular tourist spots around the town, from the lighthouse of Torre del Mar, the nativity scene of the artist Antonio Fortes, the interior of the Caña de Azucar building, the Carmen theatre as well as typical street scenes like chestnut roasting.

The winning town will have the chance to host Canal Sur’s New Year’s Eve show.
