VILLAJOYOSA is preparing for the holiday season by putting up its Christmas illuminations.
They are due to be officially switched on tomorrow, Friday , December 5, and as usual in recent years they have been installed only in Calle Ciudad de Valencia, Calle de la Constitucion, Calle Pizarro, Calle Colon and and Calle Barranquet.
“We remain faithful to our principles of austerity and the spending cuts that apply to all the town’s fiestas, including Christmas,” said Commerce and Fiestas councillor Xaro Escrig.
That was why illuminations were restricted to streets on the route of the Three Kings parade on January 6, she explained, with Christmas decorations limited to selected official buildings and neighbourhoods.
