BRITS are the biggest spenders when it comes to buying Spanish Christmas lottery tickets on the internet.
British residents in Spain spent an average of €228 on tickets in 2013 according to a report by Ventura24.es lottery sales website.
Mexicans with an average of €128, Venezuelans with €96 and Dutch with €90 also spent more than the Spanish average amount of €45.
The report declared that 69 per cent of buyers are male and 60 per cent are between 30 and 49 years old.
Although Christmas lottery tickets are available from July, Spanish people tend to wait until the last moment to buy them. In 2013, 37 per cent of all tickets sold over the internet were bought between December 18 and 21.
