Become a personal carer with Consultus – Free training for new carers until January 16

SOME of our new applicants are understandably concerned about the work of a carer, but to get your new career off to a great start our Induction Course will reassure and prepare you for your role.

All new carers attend a three-day induction course at our dedicated training centre in Tonbridge Kent, run by qualified, friendly and experienced trainers who give all the information needed to start work with your clients confidently and successfully.

At the same time you will meet other new carers training with you, speak to your own dedicated care consultant and, by spending time at both the office and possibly the carer house, you will experience the unique support and ethos of Consultus. With more than 50 years of experience behind us, you can be confident you are in good hands.

We are always delighted to welcome a new team of carers – this is what you can expect to undertake:

Day 1 – Interview and Disclosure and Barring Service Check. Sessions of training, health & safety, food hygiene and dementia

Day 2 – Manual Handling

Day 3 – Personal Care and Communication, including bathing, bed bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, incontinence and catheter care.

The course also provides guidance on all aspects of the role of a carer and highlights the high standard of carers working through Consultus.

Also, each new carer receives two of our distance learning courses, Infection Control and Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults, as these subjects are considered by our trainers to be extremely important within the home.

As your career progresses you will also benefit from our ongoing training course programme, covering subjects such as diabetes, Parkinson’s, first aid and many more.

Clients’ needs vary enormously from little or no care to full personal care, so to ensure the correct bookings are offered to you, your abilities will be thoroughly assessed and your consent obtained before offering any new work.

Our reputation is in your hands – we only wish the best for you all.

The training team is always on hand to answer any of your queries at any time – what more could you ask for to help you deliver the care we know you can give.
