NICO ROSBERG kept the pressure on Formula 1 championship leader Lewis Hamilton at the weekend by winning the Brazilian Grand Prix.
The German driver now goes into the final race of the season in two weeks’ time just 17 points behind Hamilton. With double points awarded for the last race, fans are eager to see how it plays out.
However, given the dominance all season of both Mercedes and their drivers, the double points scheme may be academic in Abu Dhabi. In order to win the title, Rosberg will need to win the final race and hope Hamilton comes in third or worse.
Rosberg started the race in pole position and though Hamilton had him under pressure at times, the German held on to take the chequered flag and the 25 points. Home favourite Felipe Massa came third, much to the delight of the vocal Brazilian crowd.
