Recording claims Maradona slapped girlfriend

Diego Maradona, the legendary Argentinian football player, has allegedly been caught on camera slapping his girlfriend, Rocio Oliva.

The video apparently shows Maradona walk towards Oliva and slap her across the face twice, with her shouting “stop hitting me”.

The confrontation was filmed by Oliva, who wanted to show the Argentinian superstar shouting and hitting her during a row over a mobile phone.

Maradona has denied hitting the 23-year-old and said he just knocked the telephone out of her hands. “I sent the phone flying but I swear by my children that I never raised my hand to a woman,” he said. “The story starts and finishes there.”

The report comes two months after Diego was filmed slapping a journalist in the face in Buenos Aires after the man reportedly winked at his ex-wife.
