EL POSTILLON in Alhaurin el Grande is a French restaurant also offering international dishes in a cosy, romantic dining room full of rustic French charm, all headed by chef Xavier and front of house Kairi.
A childhood amongst cooks in his native Bordeaux and a diploma from a reputal French cookery school, paired with 20 years leading his own restaurant in Fuengirola and La Cala de Mijas should be enough credentials for a chef and his new venture. However Xavier Sierra’s new eatery exceeds expectations. “We have a small dining-room and an outdoor patio area to offer our clients great food, exceptional service and privacy.” Xavier said.
At El Postillon, there is a set menu as well as a “chef special menu” that changes regularly. French gems such as home-made pate with onion compote and toast; Grilled Filet steak with maitre d’hôtel butter; Crab, salmon and hake terrine with rose sauce; Foie gras of duck; Snails Bourguignon; Magret of Duck are some examples of what awaits food lovers.
The Fonda has kept the Andalucian features of the building, giving it a French rustic twist. One of the beauties of El Postillon is that it is off the beaten track, surrounded by spectacular views of the coast and a valley. By all accounts, parking is not a problem and the trip alone is well worth a visit.

Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday from 7:00 pm to 10:30 pm and Sundays from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Closed Sunday night and Monday.
