BRITAIN’S Andy Murray has made it into the quarter-finals of the Valencia Open after defeating Italy’s Fabio Fognini in straight sets.
The top-ranked British tennis player eased past Fognini 6-2, 6-4 to book his quarter-final place. Third-seed Murray – who won Valencia in 2009 – will face seventh-seed Kevin Anderson of South Africa in the semi-finals.
Murray’s progression in the Valencia tournament comes off the back of his second title win of the season in Austria last week.
