Enjoy the difference at La Piazza

FEW restaurants offer as much of a selection for a menu del dia as La Piazza in Campoamor and Punta Prima.

Starters include soup, salads, ham and asparagus roll, breaded mushrooms, prawn cocktail and calamari. For the main there is an extensive range of tempting dishes; chicken breast with noodles, gammon with egg and pineapple, meatballs, beef goulash, grilled hake, pork chops as well as, of course a selection of La Piazza’s premier pizzas and pasta dishes. For the impressive, credit crunching price of just €10, the meal also includes a soft drink, beer or wine and a dessert.

Unsurprisingly, the menu del dia, served from 12.30-4pm, is popular amongst regulars and holiday makers with the pizzas especially becoming a firm favourite. La Piazza offers fresh, home cooked pizzas which are made by their international team of chefs from Italian flour for that authentic taste.

La Piazza first opened at Centro Commercial La Fuente five years ago and was a personal passion for owner Josef Juhasz who had been looking for a good pizzeria since he moved to Spain from Austria with his wife and children in 1998. After finding just the one in Torrevieja he decided to set up his own. The family are no strangers to the restaurant trade, his wife Susanne worked in the industry in Austria and they set up the first Austrian/Hungarian restaurant in Villamartin Plaza. That business is now rented out as Josef and Susanne, along with sons Dominic and Daniel concentrate on La Piazza I and now La Piazza II which opened three years ago on the top floor of the Punta Prima commercial centre.

The fish, meat and pasta dishes are just as popular as the pizza and for the early risers breakfast is served from 10am offering continental and English breakfasts. An evening set menus also changes daily.

The large, spacious and modern design of La Piazza make them a welcoming eatery and are well-suited to private dining or large gatherings and a takeaway service is also available. “We pride ourselves on our home made and fresh food at good prices,” said Josef: “We want to offer 100 per cent quality and 100 per cent service.”
