Due to the severe weather conditions in the south of England, passengers on an easyJet flight heading from London Southend Airport to Malaga were asked to volunteer to leave the plane as it was too heavy to fly.
The 156 passenger Airbus 319 was due to take off for Malaga when flight attendants confirmed that due to the extreme weather, the large aircraft was deemed as too heavy for the conditions outside.
easyJet issued an apology for the situation as 10 randomly selected passengers who volunteered left the aircraft and opted for a free transfer on board a later flight, as well as receiving £250 in compensation for the inconvenience.
