Lorraine Kelly’s morning TV breakfast show ‘Lorraine’ was unexpectedly cut short as a fire drill occurred causing Kelly to wrap up and go off air.
She apologised and reassured viewers by saying “According to that, the building is being evacuated. I’ll find out what happens. In the meantime, we’ll keep going.”
Kelly tried to continue her interview with recently booted X-Factor contestant Stephanie Nala, but the blare of the alarm made it almost impossible to hear anything that was said during the broadcast.
The show was then switched to the National Trust ad break after only one question to find out exactly what was occurring in the building.
It was later revealed that the building did have to be evacuated, however, was deemed safe and everyone returned back inside. Afterwards Lorraine announced on Twitter that it was the first time in 30 years that this had happened.
