MORE than one million passengers passed through Alicante-Elche Airport in September, which represents an increase of 2.5 per cent compared to the same month last year.
According to Spanish airports authority (AENA) the airport showed considerable growth in domestic traffic of 21.1 per cent, reaching 103,793 passengers. Of the international trade, the UK provided the highest number of passengers using the airport, with 474,707 travelling on the 2,906 British flights, followed by Germany with 83,449 passengers on 485 flights.
From January to the end of September, Alicante-Elche Airport has seen nearly eight million passengers, a 4.9 per cent increase on the same period last year.
