Marbella Design Academy prides itself on great academic results

MARBELLA DESIGN ACADEMY, founded in 1995, is a private international design school that offers three-year courses in Interior Architecture, Graphic Design and Fashion Design validated by Middlesex University London.

Helle Byrn, founder of Marbella Design Academy said: “It has been a long journey and lots of hard work by our dedicated team and myself.

 In 2008, the Academy moved to their new state-of-the-art facilities in the centre of Monda, just 15km from Marbella.

The beautiful 2,000m2 building has views of its stunning surroundings including a canteen with a view to a lake. Students of more than 40 nationalities attend every year, immersing themselves in a creative bubble.

The partnership agreement signed in March 2014 with Middlesex University in London was a major milestone for the staff at the Academy. “It means that when the three year programmes are successfully completed, students are awarded a BA(Hons) Degree, recognised both in the UK and internationally,” Helle Byrn said.

As well as the three year courses, MDA also offers a foundation course, aimed at students who do not have a High School Diploma or equivalent or those who are in doubt as to which course in Design to choose.

Free Spanish lessons are on offer once a week throughout the three years, which will enable students to benefit from the rich, local culture.

The Academy recommends students to live in the village. Help is available to all students who request it to find accommodation there. The advantages of living nearby are many. Monthly costs including water and electricity are approximately €250 per month.

“With more than 320 sunny days per year, the Marbella region is an ideal location for outdoor activities and leisure,” said Helle Byrne.

Last but not least, Marbella Design Academy prides itself in offering students a friendly atmosphere and plenty of teacher attention, which reflects in their academic results. Graduates have a near 100 per cent employment rate.
