COOKING it up in time for the Homes, Gardens and Lifestyle Show are three local celebrity chefs who are taking part in The Costa’s Cook Off event taking place at this year’s exhibition on October 15-16.
Gordon from The Vestry and Frissan restaurants, Pushpa from The Spice Hut and Dave from Captain Morgan’s Bar will be producing some delicious dishes in the new fun feature at the La Finca Golf and Spa Hotel Resort in Algorfa where the audience can watch, enjoy and vote to decide if it’s the ‘Red Chilli Pepper’ kitchen or the ‘Green Olive’ kitchen that will win on the day.
The cooking demonstrations for round one and two are being staged at noon and 3pm on Wednesday October 15 with the final being at 3pm the following day.
The new kitchen sets are all ready and spicing up the proceedings, keeping the chefs in check, is Big FM who will be compering the cooking feature and also broadcasting live at the show on 89.9 and 99.8fm. All that awaits is to reveal who is going to be the fourth chef…
But this year’s Home, Gardens and Lifestyle Show of course has so much more for visitors than just the Costa’s Cook Off and is billed to be the biggest and best yet.
TV’s antiques expert Mark Stacey will be on hand both days chatting to the public from 10.30am on Wednesday and 1pm on the Thursday. There is gardening tips and advice with Jenni Ray, airbrush art with Ronen, live art demonstrations with Vista Art, lifestyle features, prize draws and a host of stands and local business exhibitors. The show opens from 10am-5pm, sponsored by Currencies Direct and entrance costs just €2.50.
