Bar La Union: a corking night out

NIGHTS out in La Alfoquia offer you the best of both worlds, with Bar La Union offering great food and great entertainment all in one place.

Gary and Sue run this popular venue and have brought a kicking atmosphere to the town by featuring popular entertainment acts from around the area, and even launching a number of performers that have gone on to receive a massive local following.

Coming up in the following weeks they have entertainment from Dave Henry on October 10, B Funky on October 11, Queen Brit on October 18, Twilight Shadows on October 24, Ratatouille on October 31 and a Diva night on November 1 with Cher, Dusty Springfield and Carpenters tribute acts. Tickets cost €4 and advance booking is strongly recommended, especially if you are eating.

There is a three course menu from 6pm until 8pm with special dishes to please everyone. Friday nights are one of the most popular with ribs, steaks, lamb and fresh salmon on the featured list. A great British tradition is a Sunday Roast, and Bar La Union is packed to the rafters with their choice of meats, now including lamb and salmon. As with the entertainment nights, Bar La Union strongly recommends that you book in advance if dining, and if you can pre-order too then even better. Like pies? Then you are in for a treat with the bar’s range of home-made pies.

Fish lovers can now enjoy hake and swordfish, recently added to the vast menu of home-made dishes.

There is seating in the indoor dining area, or if you fancy a bit of fresh air there are plenty of tables at the front, or on the screened terrace behind this popular venue.

Finding the bar is easy, it is located on the left hand corner as you turn into the parking area by the Renfe building.

Christmas isn’t as far away as you think, and bookings are already flying in. You can see the menu on the bar’s Facebook page, and of course booking is very highly recommended.
