Casa Italia, a hidden treat in Cabopino

CASA ITALIA is a hidden treat for those who love to indulge in fine Italian Cuisine.

Situated in the heart of Cabopino Port, you will find Casa Italia next door to Julies Bar. What was once the old dining area of Julies is now home to the newest eatery in Cabopino.

With super views overlooking the port, you can dine on the terrace where you are able to sit back and watch the world, people and yachts go by or take a seat inside and enjoy the comfortable surrounds of the new and recently refurbished venue.

With a comfortable inside seating area, Casa Italia also has a terrace, designed to cater for all weather conditions, for 36 covers.

French owner, Florian was there to greet us straight away, asking our preference of seating and pre-dinner drinks, in fact everything was relaxed yet attentive to detail.

A complimentary home-made platter of breads with tartar and garlic sauce and some amazing tasting olives arrived.

The oven baked provolone cheese with tomatoes and oregano (€5) was a must, served with the second starter of home-made marinated vegetable and rocket leaves under buffalo mozzarella (€7).

The provolone was the best, absolutely mouth-watering, a taste bud overload, so much so I almost had to order another. It was fantastico!

The main course consisted of grilled pork chops served in a creamy mushroom sauce and home-made potato puree (€14). The pork was just perfect – tender, plenty of it and without a trace of fat. The sauce was creamy and tremendously tasty to the point of finding it difficult to say no to more.

With one main covered, the second was yet to come. Homemade pan fried veal escalopes served with spaghetti and Napolitano sauce (€17). The spaghetti was cooked to perfection, the right texture, taste and amount. The veal took over half of the plate in size and was served at an ideal temperature. The veal was cooked to order and what couldn’t be finished was offered to take home.

Florian, known for his fresh handmade pizzas, attracts regular clients who travel to Casa Italia specifically for his pizzas, including fellow chefs and restaurant owners who all rate him at the top of the list for the varied pizzas available. The venue is available for functions, and with advance notice special menus may be available.

Opening on New Year’s Eve, Casa Italia is set for a special menu to see out the old and welcome in the New Year.

For information contact Florian and his team on 951 466 316 or visit their Facebook page for details of menus and any special offers www.facebook.com/Casaitaliacabopino or email them direct at cabopino@casaitaliaristorante.es Overall an excellent venue with a great setting, extensive Italian cuisine menu with a friendly super service.
