THE OWNER of a bar in Colmenar, Malaga, was found lying in a pool of blood with a bullet wound to the head.
The man was found alive 3.30 am on Saturday morning (September 27), by a client who had stopped by the bar for cigarettes. Paramedics attended to the victim at the scene, who sadly died on the way to hospital.
The victim, a 56-year-old Dutch national known as ‘Tarek’ had owned the bar for the last three years, selling pizzas and hamburgers to locals. The bar was known being open for long extended hours.
Finding Tarek alive but unresponsive, the young man who discovered the bloody crime scene and injured man ran to get help, at that point believing that Tarek may have suffered a fall, or that someone may have hit him on the head.
An ambulance was called; on arrival medics managed to stabilise Tarek despite his critical condition and notwithstanding him also suffering several heart attacks.
Tarek injuries were so severe, whilst medical professional tried desperately to save his life Tarek died en route to Malaga’s Carlos Haya hospital.
Post mortem discovered a bullet lodged in the victims forehead, indicating the violence and shot entered the victims head from the back of the head.
Colmenar is a small village, a community where everyone knows everyone. Tarek is described as being a well-liked individual.
Motives for the murder remain unclear, the police investigation continues with several leads including robbery and accounts being miss-managed.
Prior to setting up home and a business in Colmenar, Tarek managed a bar in La Carihuela, Torremolinos.
