Radio One ‘Dr’ Fox arrested over sex allegations

The radio I DJ, Neil Fox has been arrested today over alleged historic sex offences, just minutes after ending his breakfast show.

The father of three is currently being quizzed by police at a central London police station regarding the alleged  assaults of two women.

A representative for Bauer Media, the owners of Magic FM, said: “Bauer Media can confirm that Neil Fox, presenter of the Magic Radio breakfast show, was today arrested by Westminster Police. He is currently being questioned about various allegations.

“In the circumstances Neil will be off air from tomorrow to enable him to devote his full attention to dealing with these matters. All other aspects of his contract will remain unchanged while matters are resolved.  We can make no further comment at this stage.”

Police are searching two addresses for Mr Fox, following the re-investigation, one in SW6 London and the other in Littlehampton, Sussex

The 53-year-old, who is married, began his career on Capital FM, in the 90`s. He went on to host the top 40 chart show on Sunday afternoons before  presenting the Pepsi Top 40 Chart on Channel 5 and then onto Pop idol with Simon Cowell, Pete Waterman and Nicki Chapman.

A Scotland Yard spokesman confirmed:  “Officers from Westminster have this morning, Tuesday, 30 September, arrested a 53-year-old man following allegations of historic sexual assault against two women. The man remains in custody at a central London police station.”
