DAVE LEE TRAVIS, the former Radio 1 DJ and presenter of Top Of The Pops has been found guilty of one case of indecent assault.
The judge at Southwark Crown Court agreed to the 10-2 vote after returning from 19 hours and 15 minutes, without reaching a 100 per cent majority.
The 69-year-old DJ, real name David Griffin, looked shocked when the judge called out the verdict in his retrial after jurors failed to reach a verdict earlier this year.
The veteran DJ was convicted of groping the breasts of a TV researcher (now famous television personality) in 1995. The occurrence had taken place in the corridor backstage when he was recording BBC’s Mrs Merton Show.
He was found not guilty on one other charge and was discharged on the third count as the jurors were unable to reach a verdict.
Travis had always denied all the claims against him insisting his ‘cuddly’ and ‘tactile’ nature had been misconstrued.
