RACING car driver Scott Semmelmann has been killed in a pre-race practice run in Wisconsin, USA.
The 47-year-old sprint car driver is reported to have collided with another car before flipping over three times in the air. His vehicle then hit a concrete wall in the accident at the Beaver Dam Raceway in which Semmelmann tragically lost his life.
The race in which he was due to participate was subsequently cancelled. It would have been the driver’s first race of the season.
A police statement read: “This incident appears to be [a] tragic accident at this time.”
Semmelmann’s death is reportedly the first fatality at the Beaver Dam Raceway since the track’s reopening in 1993.
