Go back to natural at Countrylife

COUNTRYLIFE health food store is a delight to visit.

Going back to that traditional feel of a small, independent corner grocery store, Countrylife in Benissa is a treasure trove of fresh organic fruit and vegetables, home-made breads and organic produce.

The store has been established for 13 years, but was taken over by Gabrielle Discher 18 months ago. This true ‘back to nature’ loving lady is a wealth of knowledge about her products and practices what she preaches living self-sufficiently herself at her hill top finca in Senija.

She makes the bread herself and the eggs in store are laid fresh by her chickens.

The store is home to dietary supplements, seeds and nuts, organic chocolate, soft drinks, cooking sauces and even beers and whether they are local to Spain (grapes are currently in stock from Benitachell and onions have come from just down the road in Benissa) or from Germany, all are ecological, quality products that hold the recognised ‘Comite Agricultura Ecologia’ stamp of approval.

The store is on Avenida Marina 45, Local 4, opposite the Pepe La Sal commercial centre on the Benissa-Moraira coastal road and is open Monday to Friday 10.30am-6pm and Saturdays from 10-30am- 2pm.

So drop in and discover the healthy benefits of organic food or, to experience a true taste of the outdoors and natural lifestyle that Gabrielle benefits from each day, she offers rural escapes at her property in private onsite cabins. At Refugio del Monte, which stands for peace and relaxation, you can find a bit of seclusion and escape on the 20,000 square metre plot to recharge your batteries and enjoy the countryside.
