AN aeroplane belonging to the Spanish airline Air Nostrum had to abort a takeoff thanks to a bird that got in the way.
The aircraft, flying from Palma to Barcelona, was on the runway and building up speed when a bird flew directly into one of its jet engines.
The unfortunate bird caused an impact significant enough to interrupt the takeoff process and force the plane to return to its gate.
Spain’s aviation authority Aena has said that there was absolutely no risk to the passengers on board the flight at any time during the incident, despite the fact that they had to disembark from the affected plane.
The delayed travellers were reassigned to different flights and will be flying to their intended destination as soon as possible.
