VELEZ-MALAGA is gearing up to celebrate the traditional Real Feria de San Miguel this week and this year’s offering should prove to be an exciting and captivating event.
The Feria in many people’s minds is split into two distinct experiences: daytime and nighttime, with the locals of Velez-Malaga often opting to partake in festivities during the day, leaving the night for visitors from the surrounding towns and villages.
Aware of criticism that the evening Feria sometimes lacks the atmosphere of the day, the organisers have decided to move the livestock fair back into the centre, as well as having increased this year’s programme of music and concerts in order to keep the atmosphere going throughout the event.
The main attraction for many will be the popular rock group from Malaga, Efecto Mariposa (The Butterfly Effect), who will be closing the festivities on Sunday. Other musical offerings will include Gemeliers, and Abraham Mateo.
The Real Feria de San Miguel will be on from September 24 until September 29.
