Enjoy your pool all year with best system for you

RAY GARDNER: For all your heating and plumbing requirements.

WE may be coming towards the end of the summer, but that doesn’t mean that it’s time to say goodbye to your swimming pool. With a pool heating system from Moraira Plumbing Heating, you can make the most of your pool throughout the year.

There are three basic types of pool heating systems. The best system is determined by numerous factors including your needs, desires, budget and physical layout of the pool and house. Ray Gardner from Moraira Plumbing Heating said: “Choosing the right equipment and source of energy to heat your pool or spa can be confusing. Unfortunately a lot of pool heating suppliers and installers do not have vast product knowledge and too often install the wrong equipment. With our pool heating equipment you will enjoy your pool more than ever and extend your swimming season.”

Pool heating can be done by gas, electric (element type or heat pump) or solar. The two major types of gas used for pool heating are LPG or propane gas supplied in cylinders or natural gas, supplied in gas mains and cheaper than LPG. Gas heaters are used in large numbers on pools and spas and give great flexibility because of their rapid heating ability and robustness.

Gas heaters can easily maintain any desired water temperature as typical sizing is based on providing heater capacity of achieving a 14 degree Celsius rise in water temperature in 24 hours.

Gas heaters are ideal for heating spas as most people require a quick heat in a short time.

The advantages of gas pool heating is that it is generally cheaper to buy in comparison to other systems, heats up quickly and requires less space for installation. However, running costs are usually higher and there is the cost of gas installation.

If you are thinking of using an electric system there are a number of advantages. They are very small units and don’t take up a lot of room in your garden. Electric can be used in areas where a gas supply isn’t available and is suitable for aboveground pools and inground pools. Heating can also be set on a timer. However, it can have high running costs depending on your electricity tariff.

Solar is an alternative and environmentally friendly way of heating your pool and once installed there are few running costs.
