Kate Bush,CBE,makes chart history as eight of her albums enter the UK official charts.

The predominantly 80s singer who became the first woman to self-pen a number one hit in 1978, and create song busters like Babooshka, Running up that Hill and Wuthering Heights,  has made the history books today as eight of her albums are currently in the official UK Charts.

Two of the albums have already hit the top 10 spot,The Whole Story at number six and Hounds Of Love at number nine, the Official Charts Company said.

After 35 years since her last tour, Kate Bush has taken to the stage again as she continues her sell-out shows in London. The 22 night residency tour at the Apollo Theatre in London entitled‘Before the Dawn’ saw tickets sell out in 15 minutes.

Official Charts Company chief executive, Martin Talbot, said: “Her new live shows have created a huge stir, but for them to help push her catalogue to make such a significant sales impact is further evidence of the love that the British public have for her music, from generation to generation.”

Although Bush didn’t tour for 35 years, she still remained proactive in her career as a musician, recording albums, soundtracks and collaborating with a host of singers. She was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to music. She received the award from Queen Elizabeth II on April 10, 2013 at Windsor Castle
