A 38-year-old British woman is in a critical condition in Son Espases Hospital in Mallorca after being hit by a motorcycle in the early hours of the morning, at about 3am.

The incident happened in Magaluf when the woman was crossing the street, outside the pedestrian crossing area. A Suzuki motorbike driven by a 30-year-old Spanish man reportedly had no time to avoid the pedestrian and hit her head on. She was transferred to Son Espases Hospital, 20 kilometres away with severe injuries to her back, arms, and spleen.

The biker was breath-tested on the spot and produced a negative result. He was taken to hospital having suffered a broken leg in the collision. The police are investigating the cause of the accident to determine whether the biker was speeding or not.
