The Boardwalk goes Pink

EuroWeeklyNews

THE fun wasn’t under the boardwalk, but rather in it on Wednesday evening, at Positively Pink’s fashionista fundraiser ‘Ladies only High Tea Party’ at the Boardwalk, Marbella. Julyana of Lust Dresses generously donated all the stunning outfits which were auctioned off after a terrific catwalk showcase by local models and friends of The Boardwalk who supported the event. ‘Dublin Housewives’ reality TV participant, fashion swim wear designer and top Irish model Virginia McCari donated an aptly pink, jewel studded, one-of-a-kind swimsuit fit for the stars which she had designed especially for the event, modelling it herself. Charley Caradas, Director of Boardwalk, was determined to make the highest bid and secured the title of new owner of the suit. Compère for the evening was Howard Holland, keeping things running smoothly with a great sense of humour.

Pat Jay of Positively Pink, gave an informative and inspiring talk on how individuals and businesses help the charity raise funds through organising events and they can provide a free service to screen, diagnose, treat and support women who discover they have breast cancer and since 2013 they have also started a charity called Positively Blue for men.

Astra the belly dancer provided some sensuous entertainment as the pink bubbly flowed and the famous High Tea nibbles went down a treat. Organiser Christie Holland who showed flair and passion in her organisation of the event said it had been a great success and was grateful for the support of all who attended the fun evening.

€1,805 was raised for Positively Pink in just two hours.
