Rory on course for richest golf season ever

AFTER a summer bonanza of trophies and wins, golfer Rory Mcllory is looking at producing the richest golf season ever recorded. Following his second Major win of the season in Vallhala, USA, Rory has just secured £2.9 million (€3.6 million) for only four weeks work.  “Right now, I’d like to enjoy what I’ve done,” was Rory`s response to getting his hands on the US PGA’s famous Wanamaker Trophy at Valhalla, USA.

The culmination of the season is the FedEx Cup, which offers the biggest individual prize in sport, a $10 million (€7.5 million) bonus to the table leader, of the top 125 point leaders, after the 2014 golf season. In 2012 Rory managed to win two of the final four playoffs, but his combined score for the season meant he came up short of the top spot and the massive bonus.

This year, if Rory can continue his outstanding form and remain in the race for the FedEx bonus, his earnings this year could surpass $20 million (€15 million). 2015 looks bright for the lad from Holywood, NI. The career grand slam can be completed at Augusta, USA and is only a green jacket away.
