PRACTICAL HELP: Javea mayor Jose Chulvi (third right) with SATE team
JAVEA’S Servicio de Atencion al Turista Extranjero (SATE) is now open to the public.
The service provides non-Spanish crime victims with official and practical help in their own language.
The Costa Blanca has four SATE offices in Benidorm, Alfaz del Pi, Finestrat and Orihuela but Javea is the only Marina Alta town offering this service.
The office located in Plaza Adolfo Suarez in the port area between the Policia Local station and the Tourist office is open Monday to Friday from 9am until 1.30pm and from 4.30 to 8pm. On Saturdays the office opens from 10am – 1pm and 4.30 to 8pm and on Sundays from 10am to 1.30pm.
The SATE office complements the usual service from the Guardia Civil and Policia Local who provide round-the-clock attention at their usual headquarters.
