Retired former super heavyweight boxing champion, Danish-born Brian Nielsen recently popped into La Sala restaurant Puerto Banús, where he indulged in a spot of sparring with Sala Group Operations Director Miguel Estevez.
Nielsen, who won bronze at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, and in the 1991 European Amateur Championships, found popularity with his fun attitude both in and out of the ring, a quality that has never left him.
In the ring, as an amateur Nielsen was very successful, winning 104 of his 111 fights. One of the highlights of his professional career was a fight against Mike Tyson in 2001, when Nielsen was knocked out in the third round. After retiring from the sport, Nielsen made a brief comeback in 2010.
Nielsen now enjoys life in the sun in Marbella. A partner in a golf club, he is a big fan of La Sala restaurant in Puerto Banús where he regularly comes to dine and relax.
