Andy Murray will continue his title defence against 20th seed Kevin Anderson on Centre Court today.
The 6ft 8in South African nicknamed, “The Gentle Giant,” has been an occasional practice partner of Murray’s, and is looking to impress in his bid to reach the quarter finals of a Grand Slam for the first time.
First seed Novak Djokovic is scheduled to take on Frenchman Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
Meanwhile, this year’s Australian Open champion has been sidelined as Saturday’s rain delayed Stanislas Wawrinka’s third round clash with Denis Istomin, along with Spaniard Feliciano Lopez’s match against John Isner.
Fourth seed Roger Federer and World No. 1 Rafael Nadal also faced delays following Saturday’s postponements.
Wawrinka’s coach expressed his concern on behalf of the Swiss: “It’s tough but I know the organisation and the referees are trying to be fair to all the players. It’s not really human but we’re not complaining. We know what we have to do and we’ll just try to focus on one point at a time and one match at a time.”
