A toddler from Arbroath is fighting for her life, after been pulled from the bottom of a swimming pool in the Spanish resort of Salou, Barcelona.
Four year old Cally Simpson was found unconscious by another holidaymaker, Ash, who performed emergency first aid on her, but she did not regain consciousness.
Spanish paramedics rushed the youngster to the children’s intensive care in Barcelona, where she remains and is now in stable condition according to the medical staff.
The distraught father said he had no idea how the toddler ended up in the pool.
Her grandmother said: “This was her first ever holiday, she can’t swim. We are all praying that she will pull through. There has been a slight improvement. They have started to raise her temperature to 36.5 degrees. She is now stable.”
A Facebook page called Saving Cally Miller has been set up to raise the necessary funds to fly the toddler’s mother to be by her daughter’s side in Spain.
