€25k reward offered in murder hunt

On the 10th anniversary of the murder of teenager Liam Kelly, the Merseyside Police is offering a reward for information leading to the arrest of Kevin Parle, who is suspected to be hiding in Spain.

The 16-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his chest in the early hours of Saturday June 19 in 2004.

The alleged murderer, Kevin Parle, is known to have links to the Torrevieja area of Spain’s Costa Blanca.

Several people were arrested in connection with Liam Kelly’s murder. Parle was questioned and released on police bail.

A warrant was later issued when he failed to answer bail.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Hesketh, from MSOC’s major crime unit said: “Liam was just 16-years-old when he was shot in Grafton Street a decade ago today. He had a whole life ahead of him and was denied that future by his killers. His mother Mary in particular has suffered immense anguish in losing her son in such a violent and premature way. Tragically she has been denied the opportunity to see her boy grow up into a man and perhaps have a family himself.”

Kevin Parle also uses the alias Joseph Kenneth Parle, described as white, 6ft 5ins tall and of broad build, with blue eyes and a one inch scar on the left side of his head.
