Prince William is more popular than the Queen

The latest opinion poll reveals Prince William as the most popular royalty in recent history, with 68 per cent of people positively supporting the 31-year-old. While support for the monarchy is on a 20 year high in Britain, the third in line to the throne surpasses the 64 per cent who favoured his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

The most popular British politician was no other than the mayor of London, Boris Johnson, who gathered 41 per cent of the votes, with Prime Minister David Cameron favoured by 28 per cent of the people, according to the new poll.

On the other end of the spectrum, less than one in five saw Chancellor George Osborne and Labour leader Ed Miliband in a good light.

The 88-year-old Queen is still in good health having been on the throne since 1952. Her 65-year-old son and Prince of Wales, Charles, is the heir to the crown, although the public poll have shown that support for the Duke of Cambridge succeeding after her majesty is riding higher than that of his father.
