Shooting in Guadalmar

National Police have detained two men for a shooting in Guadalmar. The two men, 23 and 27, are being held under suspicion of robbing €1,000 and then shooting the resident in a home in Guadalmar.

In a joint operation between the Guardia Civil and the National Police two have been detained – one of them has gone straight to prison – and a third person has had a European search and arrest warrant put out in their name as they are suspected of fleeing to Romania.

The two detained allegedly broke into a house in Guadalmar wearing balaclava helmets, stole €1,000 and then shot the resident in the shoulder.

Police were originally called to the scene of the crime when the injured man’s assistant called them after finding her boss had been shot in his right shoulder. The victim was taken to the Hospital ClinicoVirgen de la Victoria in Malaga and is making a good recovery.

After intense investigations the joint forces of the NactionalPolice and Guardia Civil were able to identify and locate the three, alleged, perpetrators of the crime.

Investigations have revealed that the victim, who rented out rooms by the hour to couples, had received a call, from unknown persons, booking time in a room for the next night. When the two potential clients arrived they pretended to be policemen and, while threatening him with a gun, they asked him to hand over all of his cash. The perpetrators got away with more than €1,000 after shooting the man in the shoulder.

The first detention was the 23-year-old who was found in Pizarra and stands accused of violent robbery and falsifying official paperwork. He has been sent to prison with no possibility of bail.

The second detention was the 27-year-old; he was found in Villfranco del Guadalhorce and stands accused of robbery with violence.

Police are looking for a third person in connection with this crime and have issued an international search and arrest warrant on a man of 38 who they think is a Romanian citizen.

As well as the arrests the police have confiscated two pistols, several mobile phones, a large knife, balaclava helmets and hoods.
