Traditional Wimbledon test event Queens will see Spaniard Feliciano Lopez face Bulgarian Grigor Dimtrov in the Aegon Championships final after beating Radek Stepanek 7-6(7), 6-4.
To most tennis fans the competition is known as Queens, and is the first course in English tennis fans’ summer, which moves on to Wimbledon soon after.
Unfortunately with Andy Murray – the reigning Wimbledon champion- knocked out, the entertainment value has been lost for Brits –unlesss they are tennis fanatics.
But for the Spanish Feliciano Lopez is flying the flag, as he has set up a final clash with Grigor Dimtrov.
Lopez goes into tomorrow’s (Sunday) final having won a title on grass last year at the Aegon International.
Grigor Dimitrov is through to his first Aegon Championships final with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Stan Wawrinka.
It is his first final on grass, but his third final of the year. He may be one to look for in the future.
