Marbella Luxury Weekend is on in Puerto Banus

IT has started! The Marbella Luxury Weekend started today (Thursday) in the appropriate setting of Puerto Banus.

Lasting until Sunday it will bring a wealth of some of the finer things in life to the rich man’s playground. Designers from the fashion and jewellery world, fine food and wine experts are some of the special guests lined up to make it an extra special weekend.

Last year, more than 50,000 people visited the event. Organisers are expecting a similar turnout this year, and the international press will be well represented with major magazines including Vogue, Vanity Fair, Telva and Cosmopolitan all having confirmed their attendance.

Seventy companies will be taking part and there will be activities related to shopping, gastronomy, motoring, sailing and sports, with many major brands represented.

There will be fashion parades on the unique floating catwalk and there will also be chances to raise funds for charity.

Designers and international brands such as Custo Barcelona, Andres Sarda and Bikkembergs will present their most unique collections on the floating catwalk, within what has been called Marbella Luxury Catwalk.

Luxury Austrian firms will open the floating catwalk at MLW tonight.

Models will parade down the catwalk over the sea wearing the perfect ‘summer look’ and exhibit for the first time the new elements of the Wolford 2014 spring-winter collection, combined with the Swarovski jewellery collection.

Designer Carmen Diaz by La Oca Hats will present a collection inspired by the golden years of Christian Dior and Balenciaga and film divas such as Marlene Dietrich or myths like Eva Peron.

The Marbella Luxury Weekend route around Puerto Banus has a not to be missed stop at the VIP Tower Tent which is restricted to a limited number of invited guests.

This tent is the essential place to sample delicatessen products, to enjoy a moment of leisure enlivened by music and to exchange views with professionals dedicated to the different professional sectors represented at the event. There is plenty to see and do for everyone who attends. Just head for the main entrance to the port and you can not miss it.
