Brit dies in Spain holiday balcony fall

A British holidaymaker has died while on a Menorca holiday with her husband. Kay Flitcroft, 30, fell over a wall and tumbled 30 ft to her death in a freak accident while on her Mediterranean holiday.  

Mrs Flitcroft was walking back to her accommodation in the Cala En Porter resort last Friday after a night out with friends when she fell.

Her husband Ben, 34, realised something was wrong when he woke up the next morning to find his wife missing.

Passers-by found Mrs Flitcroft and called an ambulance. She was transferred by air ambulance to Palma de Mallorca hospital but doctors were unable to save her life.

The pair, from Blackpool, had been watching the England v Peru friendly match at a bar with friends when husband Ben decided to call it a night, leaving his wife with friends.

An investigation is underway into Mrs Flitcroft’s death but it is thought that the death is being treated as a tragic accident.

A UK Foreign Office spokesperson said: ‘We are aware of reports and are investigating.’
