Rescuer cat gets baseball offer

Jeremy Triantafilo was rescued by his cat Tara.

The super cat in California who was caught on video saving a boy from a dog has been invited to “throw” the first pitch at a baseball game.

Tara became a YouTube smash hit after saving her owner, four-year-old Jeremy Triantafilo, from the neighbour’s dog.

Earlier this week the family’s CCTV video was released. It shows the dog biting and dragging the boy in a driveway in Bakersfield.

Tara pounced and managed to chase away the dog, described as a Labrador-Chow mix.

Jeremy, who needed stitches after the attack, praised his cat, saying: “She’s a hero.”

The dog is now in quarantine and is expected to be put down.

Minor league Californian team The Bakersfield Blaze have tweeted that the fearless feline will be honoured this week at a game.

Tara, who has been promised a diet of salmon for life as a reward for her good work, is sure to be a hit at the game. She is set to attend the game, accompanied by her family.
