A woman in her 30s has posed as a teenager in order to enrol at a Texas high school.

Charity Johnson, 34, spent months at New Life Christian School before being arrested for giving police false information about her name and date of birth.

According to officials, the woman had spent months pretending to be a 15-year-old student at the school, where nobody doubted her.

Ms Johnson told everyone that her name was Charite Stevens and she was born in November 1997.

Police were called to an apartment when Johnson’s roommate wanted her to leave.

They discovered that although Johnson is 34, jail records listed her as 31.

Johnson enrolled at New Life Christian School in Longview in October, indicating in the paperwork that she was 15.

Principal Stuart Newlin told AP:

“She acted like a 15, 16-year-old. She was an attentive student, respectful, did her homework.”

Mr Newlin said that “nobody seems to know why” the woman posed as a teen.

Police also said they had not determined her motives.
