There are not enough nurses on the Balearic Islands.
According to the CIS (centre for social investigations) healthcare is the fifth highest on the list of what worries the citizens of the Balearic Islands.
The Spanish average is of 536 nurses for every 100,000 people but the Balearic Island average is 508 for every 100,000 while the EU average is 808.
This year on International Nursing Day, May 12, the Baleares healthcare system (SATSE) decided to launch a campaign to make people more aware of what nurses do and why they are so important.
