On July 11 and 12, the Ciudad de Malaga Athletics Stadium will be the setting for 101 Sun Festival, with Spanish and international artists for all tastes in what promises to be an unforgettable festival.

It will combine sun, good food and the best music, all rolled into one.

The line-up is led by Franz Ferdinand, one of the most famous independent pop groups of recent times.

They will be joined by French duo Rinôçérôse, with their rock and dance music fusion; Crystal Fighters, combining dubstep, rock and traditional instruments; and also from the UK, The Family Rain, who have given rock a new lease of life and are performing in Spain for the first time.

Other artists include Russian Red, Lori Meyers, Spanish duo Amaral and L.A., as well as US West Coast rock band Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; the British group Spector, and also from the UK, The Struts, combining rock and pop with a punk attitude, also visiting Spain for the first time.

The festival will also include performances from midday until 4pm on July 12 and 13 at La La Termica. Festival ticket holders can access these concerts for free, and will be able to see Swedish independent rockers The Royal Concept, and Spanish groups Second, Jack Knife, Full, Nora Norman, Smile and Maine Coon. There will be shows, exhibitions, food and drink and many other surprises.

Sun Festival 101 is also looking for upcoming artists to play in July and has organised a competition for new groups, singers and musical projects through Meetinarts.com.

The winner will perform live at the festival as well as winning €600 in cash and festival tickets for friends and relatives.

Votes for the projects which have been presented can be given online on www.101sunfestival.com until 10am on June 2. The festival organisers and one of the performing bands will choose the winner amongst the 10 favourites.

Tickets, at €49 plus distribution costs, can be bought from www.101sunfestival.com, Tiketmaster, Ticketea and Malaga Entradas.

There are also packs on sale including tickets and accommodation, as well as discounts on car hire, public transport and plane tickets.
