A new variety of tourist has appeared on the scene, and Casino Marbella is the main attraction for them.

The new tourists which have been visiting major events at Marbella Casino for the past two years are poker players of different nationalities with medium to high spending power, aged from 25 to 45, and also interested in leisure and gastronomy.

Last year, PokerStars hit the local scene as the biggest ever poker event to have been held at Casino Marbella to date.

Other tournaments, such as the World Poker Tour arrived in Marbella as the first international poker tournament two years ago and the following year was joined by Grand Live, making it quite a festival.

Now, Casino Marbella has become one of the unmissable locations for the world’s main tournament’s attracting both Spanish and foreign visitors.

From June 9 to 15, Poker Stars returns to Marbella and around 1,000 players are expected at the Main Event alone. Information and registration on www.casinomarbella.com

More than 15,000 players visited the Casino last year, leading to more than 1,000 overnight stays in local hotels, thanks to events such as PokerStars, Grand Series Of Poker, World Poker Tour and 888poker.

This year the results are expected to be as good or even better, as there were 1,500 players at the Marbella Poker Festival in April alone.

Other tournaments, such as 888poker.es Superstack and national circuits such as the Spanish Poker Championship will also be on this year’s calendar, attracting visitors from all over Andalucia and the rest of Spain.

The 888 poker.es SuperStack will be held this weekend, from tomorrow (Friday) until Sunday, and then again from December 5 to 7. It will also visit Madrid, Ibiza, Las Palmas and Valencia.

The Spanish Poker Championship will visit Marbella from October 8 to 12.
