Adra against racism tournament

Adra played host to a football tournament to raise awareness of racism.

Adra in Almeria played host to an interesting football tournament at the weekend.

The town played to raise awareness of racism and to reject xenophobia, whilst encouraging the integration of more than 3,300 immigrants in the town.

The matches had no winners or losers, and there were no restrictions on who could participate, and no inequality between men and women, or any ‘privileges’ for reason origins or race.

The tournament formed part of a calendar of events that began in April with a photographic exhibition at the Cultural Centre in Adra.

A variety of events continue until the end of May and include a film screening of ‘Busqueda piquetera’, The concert ‘Mentenguerra Krondstadt’ and a lecture at El Ejido school for adults by Jose Luis Garcia, Professor of Philosophy at the University of Granada.
