Crime down in Malaga province

The number of crimes in Malaga province fell 11.3% in the first three months of 2014.

The number of crimes in Malaga province fell 11.3% in the first three months of this year compared to the same period in 2013.

 

According to a crime report published by the Interior Ministry, the number of crimes reported between January and March this year fell to 18,500.

For the second time running, the number of burglaries has dropped. For the first three months of this year it is the crime which has fallen the most, by 23.7% to 1,028 cases.

Car theft has also fallen by 8.6% but continues to be one of the most frequently reported crimes in the province, along with drug trafficking.

There were 6,518 car theft cases in total. 

For the second time running drug trafficking is on the rise, by 18.2%.
