Two brothers, driving a flimsy 50cc car, went over the side of the road in Malaga.

One of the brothers, 87, climbed up the cliff face to call the emergency services.

Nobody, neither the firemen nor the ambulance workers, could believe the luck of the two brothers, both in their 80s, who drove their car off a 40 metre cliff and lived to tell the tale.

The car was not even very much protection as it was one of the fibreglass 50cc cars that can be driven without a proper licence.

They went off the Los Montes road, just past the Mirador venta in Malaga, and their car fell down a 40 metre drop; the younger of the two brothers, 87, then climbed back up to alert the emergency services as to their situation.

When the ambulance, fire brigade and other emergency services arrived they could not believe that both brothers had survived such a steep drop in such a flimsy car.

Neither brother lost consciousness or was badly hurt but both were taken, due to their age, to the hospital to be checked out.
