Police seized the items from Roquetas del Mar.

Guardia Civil have seized more than 800 items of counterfeit clothing in a series of raids.

The clothes were on offer for sale in several shops in the Roquetas del Mar, as well as a number of stalls in the market.

Guardia Civil estimates the clothing had a potential street value of €59,000.

The Guardia Civil say it is awarning to shops around the province that they are on the look out for fake branded clothing.

The operation has also led to the arrest of eight persons suspected of an offense against intellectual property.

This latest haul was the result of research and inspections by the Guardia Civil, in the prevention of manufacture, distribution and sale of fake brands.

These kinds of operations are to protect the interests of the holders of the intellectual property rights registered under trademark law.

The 847 items included t-shirts, jerseys, and sportswear. Full details have been referred to magistrates.
