A man is facing 10 months in prison for allowing two horses to die.
In January last year, officers from the Guardia Civil Nature Protection Service (Seprona) arrived on a plot in Tolox where they found three stables, each with one horse inside.
Two of the horses had died and the third was starving, had no food or water, and was surrounded by its own excrement.
The horses belonged to the owner of the property who stopped going to care for them with no cause. He provided no water or food for them and they died of hunger and thirst.
The man was charged with animal abuse and Malaga Public Prosecutor is also asking for a two-year ban on him carrying out any profession or business involving animals.
