Junta to invest millions in Almeria internet network

The Junta de Andalucia regional government is to spend more than €2 million in the Guadalinfo network in Almeria in 2014.

 

Adriana Valverde, territorial delegate for Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment, has explained that all the Guadalinfo centres will have this investment spread out among them to improve the service of these centres which provide public access to the Internet.

On top of this the Department of Economy will invest €5.5 million to renovate the computers in centres all over Andalucia.

Valverde went on to comment that the Guadalinfo project was important as it signified the equality of opportunities in the Almeria area.

She also pointed out that another 93 centres have been planned within the Guadalinfo network and that these are of the highest priority as they help people find employment and they are a social innovation.

The Guadalinfo network has been going for more than 10 years and are used by 33.16% of the population.
