Malaga metro problems – before work’s even started

Malaga Metro is due to begin operating this year but a severe problem has not been resolved.

The problem has been identified at the Teatinos Campus of Malaga University, which Line 1 will cover.

At the busy crossroads between the main boulevard and Calle Jimenez Fraud, there are already constant tailbacks at peak times.

Add to this that every six or seven minutes, lights at a level crossing without barriers will turn red to allow the metro to pass above ground, and the problem becomes even worse.

Vehicles, including ambulances, use this point to access faculties, the hospital and local neighbourhoods.
